More adventures in siding...

The top half of the siding, which ardent fans will recall is 'shiplap', rather than 'channel rustic' -- and at different board widths, to boot -- started going up on the east-facing side today. This picture reminds me that we are supposed to pick out a door handle for this door.

...meanwhile, the lower half's siding has crept around the corner to the west side.

A rare view from the northwest corner, up on the hillside. Gosh, it looks dull from here, but trust me, that expanse of wall will have plenty of fun stuff going on, on the inside: books, prints, odd paint choices...heh heh heh...

In other news, the electrician was here to fiddle with the recessed lights in the existing house, since they have had a tendency to overheat and burn out. We thought, he's here, we may as well get this taken care of. Apparently Mistakes Were Made, because three of 'em burned out inside an hour and a half this evening. Exactly NOT what was supposed to happen.

You can see the icky grimy circle of where the previous trim was (the new fixtures are smaller). One day we're going to scrape off the gross popcorn finish on the ceiling in here. Or, we could go up into the attic and "accidently" put a bunch of holes in the ceiling, necessitating its replacement. Other tips are welcome.
