Hi everyone! I'm back from Oregon.

Today's first picture: it's not new, but it's just so sweet, why not look at it again?

Our Solar Panels!

Remember how the plumbers were here the other day, doing mysterious things in the basement?

They were, indeed, running pipes hither and yon, as I had suspected. Those pipes are going through one of the former exterior windows, the left half of which still needs to be well and truly filled in, as it still opens to the big wide world.

Also, here is the new water tank - the correct one, this time. Next up: connecting this up to the boiler and to the solar panels.

The vent from the boiler has been trimmed back - this used to stick out about three feet.

Next up - siding - there is one place I'm a little concerned about: the front of the existing house - the mudroom/bedroom - was originally a porch, and it does not have a foundation under it. Which means that the siding - at least, as of right now - goes all the way down to the ground.

Here's the view from the side - this used to have lattice in front of it, plus the now-transplanted day lillies, and the oil tank (now gone) used to be tucked in under here.

And here's the south (front) side of the house, and the ...sigh. The hostas. Poor guys. At any rate, I don't want that siding touching the ground like that, because it'll rot. So. We'll have to figure that out.

There is drywall in the bathroom now - the mold/mildew-proof kind.

OK, here's a random window - it happens to the be one at the landing of the stairs - that I'm including here so that you can see the little blocks of wood that have been spaced all around the frame. The sheetrock will be attached to these blocks.

Last but not least - and to be honest, not totally new, but a secret til now...

...the access to the attic space in the addition. We are in the closet, facing north, over the stairwell. Look up. See the little cut out? Obviously, it's a small hole - we won't be using this attic for storage or anything. The access is for Trained Professionals to Fix Things that Might Need Fixing. Whatever that might be.
