So the deal with the deck is, it wraps around the addition - you can access it from either the living's room new bump out (at left in picture below), or from the office door (at right).
This is the view from what would be the outside corner of the deck, only the corner's actually hacked off. This is one of those weird three-pictures-mushed-together shots that makes our addition look like the Flatiron building. Trust me, that's an ordinary 90 degree angle there. 
Turning around 180 degrees, this is the awesome fire pit.
Here's that grating I've been boasting about, just under the roofline.

Some additional indoor tidying up occurred today. Here's where two bookcases used to be. Now the woodbox, kindling, and random other stuff lives there.
As has been pointed out to me by my fan base, this blog is kinda turning into more of a "we're moving in" blog than a "look what epic things happened here" blog. So be it.
Tomorrow: get a mirror for the bathroom and pray to the gods that the plumbers come and hook us up with working faucets in the tub/shower.
